Contexte : cette série est ma contribution au projet L.A.F. J'ai réalisé le portrait d'hommes et de femmes d'une même famille en république Tchèque et je leur ai demandé quelle opinion ils avaient chacun de leur expérience du communisme. J'ai obtenu un large spectre de réponses variant en fonction du sexe et de l'âge de la personne.
Objectif : il n’y a pas de critère de choix physique ou autre pour les personnes qui se prêtent au portrait, seule leur motivation compte. Les portraits sont anonymes pour se focaliser sur ce qui nous réunit plutôt que sur ce qui nous différencie.
Context : this series is my contribution to the L.A.F. Project.
I portrayed all the members of a single family and I asked them what they remembered about their experience of communism. Answers varied a lot regarding of the age and sex of the person.
Purpose : the L.A.F. Project (Laughter and Forgetting): International Photography Exhibition and Foundation is a project bringing together international award winning photographers to document life in the Czech Republic, 20 years after building democracy; The project organized to observe the 20th anniversary of the fall of communism, both occurring in 2009.
