Contexte : ville d'Osaka, Japon.
Time Out Paris, March 1999
French photographer Rimond's photos show tranquil scenes from Japanese suburbia ( all without a single person in sight) - a taugled mass of wires braching out from a telegraph pole, or a modern hospital viewed through a hole in a wall. One striking image makes a poignant reminder of Japan's rural heritage - a small patch of ploughed earth bordered by modern buildings under a rinsed-out sky.
Kansai Time Out, Sept 1999
Patrick Rimond, a young French photographer based in Osaka has two photo exhibitions this month. Influenced by Zen philosophy, Rimond says "I'm not looking for anything in particular, I wait for the photophs to come to me. I find harmony amongst the chaos of the city." Some of Rimond's photography can be seen on the front cover of this month's KTO.
